What can you do? They released the first three episodes together in the first week. That’s why weeks 2 and 3 are empty. The end result is the same: you got 3 episodes in 3 weeks.

well I guess this episode is gonna merge with episode 1 and it's gonna be called 1-4 episode 1

episode 1 is 1-3, they deleted 2 because it was already in part 1. This one is already in 1 so if they are just realizing and deleting the duplicates then this one will just disappear as well. The initial upload was always 1-3 as a single "episode", nothing got merged.

Wow, the pacing felt really off to me in this episode.

Weiss felt bipolar with how fast she was changing her mind about things, whether forced or not, and Penny's fight scene was entirely skipped. And in general the transitions between scenes felt ridiculously fast

I found the original better, but the original deteriorated rapidly after the fall of Beacon...

I hope this adaptation gets better...

Many things were odd about the OG. I find this to better imo. The OG was full of bad puns, forced comedy and dumb dialogue whereas this is more into the action and seriousness of things.

well, yes, but that is also part of learning characters and their connection to each other. here its scence, scene, scene. action was the great part about og ruby, while here it feels flat

I have to agree with you on that part! There was pacing, I get that. Probably so it's easier for a younger audience to understand the series at any point in time.

However, the OG was slow pacing to the debut of most of the key characters being able to take action.

Hyousetsu Teikoku on the other hand, was on point with most of the key events and I have to give them credit for bringing in most of the characters early on (perhaps so the audience for this version doesn't get surprised or shocked to see them spring up out of nowhere again), hence, to make it less awkward when having the Monkey in this episode (name: Sun Wukong); or Penny, an android, show up again later on.

What I didn't like about this early intro for Penny: She wasn't introduced into the series until the group went to Weiss's hometown in like volume 6 or something. This was a bit too early to bring Penny into the series. I could have taken it easier being an old fan of RWBY had they debuted her on a later episode like 5 or 7 at least, but even her abilities to put up a good fight on episode 3? Jesus Christ, no complaints here, but my honest thoughts are still this being way too soon to happen.

actually you got one thing wrong Penny was introduced in the OG in Volume 1 Episode 15 the same episode which introduced the monkey Fanus

I hope the "Fall of Beacon" Arc is more self-improved with an actual explanation of the major threat to the world of dust. Not that the OG volume series didn't portray it well enough, but it honestly was kinda sad to see how easy it was to see Beacon fall apart from just one very
strategic plan made by Salem's dogs.

I hear ya. It's not a problem to me who was an old fan of the OG volume series, but it'll be quite difficult for newcomers to the story to understand what exactly is going on.

Weiss went to the acceptance phase pretty quick. Also they skipped a bunch of stuff because this isn't a remake of the OG, it's not an AU. This anime plot still goes side by side with the OG. It felt fast because there are complying like 16 episodes of volume 1 in like a few episodes in this before they focus on this plot

A friend of mine which is a RWBY fan told me that I can just watch this remake without watching the old one....
Why do I feel like I skipped some scenes

Because for some reason it just rushed the whole first volume in 3 episodes. I'd highly recommend watching the original if you want to see more than the cliff notes that this has been so far.

Sidenote, Monkey boy and Penny girl debut on the 3RD EPISODE ALREADY!!??!?!?
Wowers.... characters from the OG series are catching up fast! I don't mind, but I feel like this makes it much harder for new people who are watching this for the first time (those who haven't seen the OG series by Rooster Teeth. At least the first 3 volumes of it) to understand their background stories.
